Flying over

Hey guys - it's been a while but today as I'm flying from Seattle back home after a week long business trip I wanted to write to you both.

My trip was a huge success from a work perspective - great meetings. I missed you both and your dad, as I always do when I'm gone.

As I'm flying over all these states, cities, towns and farms - I can't help but feel so small and get excited deep inside about all the places I'd like to visit.

Check out the mountains here close to Seattle

This was flying into Seattle - check out the rainbow

Not sure where we are here but it looks much different from home :)

Puffy white cotton clouds below

The beautiful sun reminds me that Gods love shine down on us.

And now the fall foliage in the east as we begin our decline.

Always find appreciation in things even if it's sitting in a tight window seat for 5 1/2 hours.

Fall is in the air

The farmers almanac (which I believe) is predicting a terribly cold winter this year but right now I'm happy with this amazing fall weather we have been given.

It was Pappy Miller's turn for heart surgery this time. Since December 26th now three of your grandparents have had heart surgeries or stents.  Pappy is doing well now after a valve replacement and anurism repair. You two are very lucky to have all four of your grandparents alive - I hope you always enjoy spending time with them. What I would give right now to curl up with one of my grandparents right now and chat!!!

While daddy was off helping grandma and pappy at the hospital we took a trip to Harpers Ferry to enjoy some history and hiking.

What a fun Sunday afternoon. It might be my favorite way to spend a fall afternoon - hiking and exploring with two of my best friends!!

And of course the day was topped off with...

Always stay active. Always enjoy the fresh air. Take in and appreciate all of God's amazing artwork.

I love you both - Gods gifts to me!!!

Ranger

We met our new cousin/nephew this Labor Day weekend.

Here he is when they picked him out.

We met Uncle Jason and Aunt Jodi at Fort Frederick in MD for a picnic and Ranger meeting.

What a fun day. We walked around the fort, learned a few things and played with Ranger until he fell fast asleep.

We love him!!!

Jets and Teal Tornados

Well we started our seasons fired up and ready to run someone over!!

Teal is playing strong - 5th team out of 10 right now - happy about that.  Addy is playing her best yet. Working hard on her overhand serve - doing well with her passing and setting!!  She loves to listen to AC/AD Thunderstruck on the way to the games!!

Cade had a scrimmage and then his first
Varsity game against the Giants and they won 65-0!!  Cade had some great tackles   He was practicing hard as the backup center and feeling good.

Then one Tuesday evening I get a call from Coach Brian Horner that Cade was being loaded into an ambulance. They were running a tackling drill. Cade was carrying the ball when he got hit on the right hand side by Noah Miller and landed on his left shoulder. Addy and I followed the ambulance to Winchester hospital while dad rode with Cade. X-rays showed a broken collar bone :(

Ugh!  We were all a little heart broken at the news. The ER doctor mentioned 4 weeks and Cade held into that. He only cried at the hospital when dad mentioned possibly being out for the season.

What a strong kid!  We are still waiting to see if he will return this season. We are all pulling for him but we know he needs to be 100% to come back. God has a plan - we continue to cheer on the Jets and wait for the plan.

Busted!!!

Ha ha. So you two decided to 'google' yourself this summer and found my blog. Little smarty pants!

I didn't hide it for any real reason, just didn't tell you about it yet.

I hope you enjoy. If nothing else - know that I love you both!!

Here are two proud mommy moments from the summer

Addy worked hard a Shepherd vball
Camp. She was 9 yrs old and camp was for 11-15 yr olds. She won the 'Most Improved Player' award out of 85 girls. Woot woot!!

Cade ran with me some this summer and didn't quit even when he wanted to!!  I loves our runs together and look forward to more in the future!!

First Job

Cade's love for dogs has claimed his first job as a Dog Sitter.

He has helped Jim and Tammy Ball with Lillie and Pippa.

He has helped the Pipenbrinks with Sampson and Jack

And he has helped Nathan and Sissy Woodward with all their bull dogs.

Last week he took care of 3 out of 5 Woodward bulldogs while they were at the beach for 10 days.

This is Diesel, Pudgy and Rosie

You were paid for your services yesterday and my favorite part was when you came up and stood next to me as I was washing dishes and said 'do you know that you are standing besides a $100aire?'  I'm so proud of you, your responsibility to take care of the dogs and your heart for animals.

Then you said 'I'm going to treat the girls to Dominos for Lunch tomorrow'. 😃. The girls being Addy and Taylor (the babysitter over Spring Break).

Love you Bud!!

Valentines Date

February 14, 2014

I spent the last 14 days posting hearts to each of you, letting you know what I loved about you. It was fun - I could go on forever. You two have my heart!!!

Addy was invited to go snow tubing with Addison Walker tonight. You girls have a blast together. The Randolph's are so sweet. We are blessed!!

Cade wanted to take Meghan Aulabaugh to dinner and a movie. So daddy and I took them to Kings Pizza and then to see the Lego movie. Cade was so nervous!  Mr Aaron couldn't wait to shake his hand - Cade was happy it was that easy. Cade was a gentlemen and opened the car door for her. Lots of good conversation was had - it was fun.

And here is my valentine for the past 20 years. <3
